Camp Iron Star 2010 was a HUGE success!

We had fun filled days of riding, learning in the barn and swimming in our sparkling pool.

 

Camp Iron Star 2011 Dates!!

Iron Star Equestrian is hosting another round of Summer Camp Sessions this year. We are doing it in a different format. This year, each session will cater to a special interest group. Each session will have riding time in the morning, Lunch time (not provided), riding time in the afternoon and swimming in our sparkling pool complete with slide!!

 

Beginner Session 1: June 20 - 24

Beginner Session 2: June27 - July 1

Campers should be brand new to horses. Here they will learn how to halter, groom, tack, basic riding, lunging, bathing and stable management. They'll learn about equine anatomy, history and different disciplines of riding. They'll help with the daily chores of owning a horse such as feeding, turnout and stall cleaning. They'll learn about tack and it's care and maintenance. We'll have a bareback day as well!

 Intermediate Session : July 4 - 8

Campers should be able to trot and maybe canter. Here they will hone their tacking skills, work on trotting, learn to canter and start over small cross rails. They'll learn about tack, how to load a horse, how to lunge a horse, anatomy, history and different disciplines of riding. They'll help with the daily chores of owning a horse such as feeding, turnout and stall cleaning.

Jumping Camp: July 11-15

Campers should be able to trot and canter and have started cross rails. Here they'll be working on equitation on the flat and over fences. They'll learn about course memorization and design, how to ride tricky turns and courses and how to approach each fence appropriately. They'll also learn about tack, anatomy, history and different disciplines. They'll also help with daily chores.

Campers MAY bring their own horses for an extra $100.

Eventing Camp: July 18 - 22

Campers should be able to trot canter and have started cross rails. They'll learn about the three phases of eventing: Dressage, Cross Country and Stadium Jumping. They'll school dressage tests at their level, ride the cross country course at their level and practice stadium jumping. They'll learn how to approach each fence appropriately, course memorization and design and dressage movements.

Campers MAY bring their own horses for an extra $100.
